TRACEABILITY
For more than 10 years, Garaude has been committed to ensure a full transparency and traceability for all of its gemstones. By only selling natural and untreated stones, Garaude is dedicated to provide a full documentation on its gemstones including their certification by labs and their rough-to-cut journey.
This mine-to-market strategy enables Garaude to provide traceable gemstones to its customers and to meet the needs of a very demanding market by:
- Acquiring the best available materials directly from the source at the auctions
- Presenting a first-class cutting technique
- Documenting every step of the stone transformation from rough to cut
- Mastering and controlling the entire production chain
- Managing sufficient volumes to create perfectly homogenous, color-coordinated sets
Our traceability has been developed for 10 years and is improved by all the data we are collecting auction after auction.
All our gemstones are certified from rough to cut, either internally or in laboratories.
Sourced from the mines:
– In Mozambique for the Fura and Gemfields rubies; in Zambia or Colombia for the Fura and Gemfields emeralds; in Australia or Madagascar for the Fura sapphires.
– Bought during closed auctions and sealed.
– Sent to our atelier in Bangkok by armored transporters.
– Certified either internally or by a lab (rough stage).
– Preformed, cut and polished in-house.
– Sorted by color, quality, shape and size.
– Certified either internally or by a lab (cut stage).
– Arranged in homogeneous sets.
– Sent to our distribution offices.
– We are buying our stones from two major mining companies: Fura and Gemfields. Both groups are dedicated to respect the standards set by the market and have been audited in order to make sure they respect and value the communities.
