On one of his trips to Yangon about twenty years ago, a monsoon storm erupted, throwing the city into darkness and triggering a power outage.
François Garaude noticed that the spinels he was being shown continued to gleam in the half-light.
Enthralled by the extraordinary capacity of this stone to diffuse light, he fell in love with spinels, which display infinite shades of color (blues, reds, yellows, oranges, pinks, greens, etc.).
He has continued to enrich his collection ever since, acquiring spinels from different places (Ceylon, Tanzania, Tajikistan, Vietnam). Spinels are rarely treated. (They are sometimes treated with oils but we do not work with oil-treated spinels).
All the stones stocked have been analyzed by leading laboratories (SSEF, AGL, GRS, GUBELIN, LFG) and often have several certificates.
